Darren Aronofsky joins forces with Lou Reed and Metallica

Never thought you’d read that headline did you?

CHUD passes along word that indie wunderkind Darren Aronofsky is directing a video for the recent Lou Reed/Metallica collaboration “Iced Honey.” The single comes from the veteran singer’s most recent album, Lulu, and is absolutely wretched. He’s certainly no Hetfield in the vocals department. Quite why Aronofsky is attaching himself to this is anyone’s guess, but I can’t wait to see the outcome.

The Black Swan director hasn’t released a statement, but we do know he’ll be joined by his regular cinematographer Matthew Libatique. So it should be a good-looking promo at the very least. More on this when we get it. For now, check-out the dulcet tones of Mr. Reed.
